The California Aquaculture Association (CAA) is seeking nominations for its Board of Directors. This is an opportunity for members of California’s aquaculture industry to take a more active role in representing the industry, guiding the association’s priorities, and helping shape its future.

CAA’s Board of Directors plays an important role in establishing the association’s objectives and policies, overseeing its operations and financial responsibilities, and maintaining communication with members. Strong industry representation and active participation are essential to ensuring that CAA continues to serve the interests of California’s aquaculture community.

Who Can Serve?

Nominees must be active Producer or Associate members of the California Aquaculture Association. Board members serve two-year terms beginning January 15.

Board Member Responsibilities

Directors are expected to:

  • Prepare for and attend board meetings, most of which are held virtually.
  • Become familiar with CAA’s bylaws, policies, and financial statements.
  • Help establish objectives and policies for the association’s future.
  • Provide oversight of association staff and fiduciary matters.
  • Maintain communication with association members.
  • Communicate regularly and promptly with fellow board members.
  • Participate in association committees, which is strongly encouraged.

Serving on the CAA Board is an opportunity to contribute industry knowledge, professional experience, and new perspectives to the organization. Whether your interests are in production, business development, policy, marketing, or the broader advancement of aquaculture, your participation can help strengthen the industry’s collective voice.
