The Ocean Protection Council (OPC) has posted the final Statewide Marine Aquaculture Action Plan. The Action Plan (Item 7 Staff Recommendation) will be presented for approval at the OPC Meeting on June 16th. Funds will also be requested for California Sea Grant to begin development of the Aquaculture Science Plan (Action 3.2), and evaluation of the Pilot-Scale Aquaculture Permit Program (Action 3.3)
If you would like to provide comment on the Action Plan, you can:
- Join the meeting from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on June 16th
- In-person at the California Natural Resources Agency Headquarters Auditorium, 715 P Street, Sacramento, California
- Virtually (virtual meeting information will be posted to this webpage in advance of the meeting)
- Provide written comment to COPCpublic@resources.ca.gov by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026.
- Please include Item 7 in the email subject line.
The California Aquaculture Association (CAA) has submitted multiple comments on previous versions of the Plan. As a CAA member, if you have any input for additional comments to be submitted by CAA, please contact us.
