California aquaculture has a story worth telling, but CAA cannot tell it alone.
We need our members to help bring this industry into view.
If you are farming oysters, mussels, trout, catfish, sturgeon, algae, kelp, ornamental fish, or other aquatic species in California, your work matters. If you are supporting the industry through research, education, hatcheries, equipment, processing, consulting, regulation, workforce development, or technical services, your work matters too.
Now is the time to help people see it.
Members can get involved by sharing photos from the farm, submitting short updates, offering story ideas, hosting student or industry visits when possible, participating in member spotlights, mentoring emerging professionals, joining committees, sharing job and internship opportunities, contributing to policy and permitting conversations, and helping CAA connect with schools, agencies, buyers, chefs, and community partners.
California aquaculture needs more visibility, more collaboration, and more voices at the table.
The public cannot support what it does not understand. Students cannot pursue careers they do not know exist. Policymakers cannot fully appreciate an industry they rarely see. And future partners cannot engage with work that remains hidden.
So here is the call:
Send us the story.
Send us the photo.
Invite us to see the operation.
Share the challenge.
Celebrate the win.
Raise your hand.
Bring someone new into the conversation.
CAA is here to help connect, promote, educate, advocate, and build momentum but the strength of this association comes from the people and businesses behind it.
California aquaculture is already here
Now let’s help California see it.
