Through grassroots development and extensive advocacy work, the National Aquaculture Association (NAA) actively identifies and pursues key legislative prioritieswhich will benefit U.S. aquaculture farms.
This week, the NAA is in DC meeting with a variety of federal agencies and Congressional offices to move the needle for U.S. Aquaculture. We have organized key priorities into a 2025 Farm Bill Priorities booklet to increase the effectiveness of our advocacy efforts and are hand delivering printed copies of the booklet to key Committee and Congressional offices.
We hope to see a new Farm Bill passed this year and that these key priorities will be included to improve the business climate for farmers. Please join us in supporting these priorities by reaching out to your elected officials!
Additional Legislative Priorities
Outside of the scope of the Farm Bill, the NAA is also supporting five additional legislative improvements that would substantially benefit farmers all around the country.
Review the one-page briefs below:
- AMEND THE ESA TO EXEMPT FARMED STURGEON
- SUPPORT THE NO IRIS ACT
- AMEND THE MIGRATORY BIRD TREATY ACT
- PASS THE CORMORANT RELIEF ACT OF 2025
- SUPPORT THE SAFE AMERICAN FOOD EXPORTS ACT OF 2025
The NAA recommends that farmers contact their Representative and Senators to ask for their support for these Federal priorities.
