What is the California Sea Grant
State Fellowship?
The California Sea Grant State Fellows Program provides a hands-on educational opportunity for graduate students who are interested in marine resources and the policy behind them.
The State Fellowship is administered by California Sea Grant and pairs highly motivated and qualified graduate students (Masters, Ph.D., and J.D.) with host agencies in California for a 12-month paid fellowship.
Interested in Hosting a California
Sea Grant State Fellow?
The Call for Host Applications is open for participation from municipal, state, or federal agencies, as well as research and conservation organizations in California with mandates in coastal or marine research, policy, or management.
Prospective hosts will provide an educational opportunity to individuals who will provide substantial professional contributions to the office. The hosts are expected to supervise, mentor and provide opportunities for involvement in critical issues that support the fellow’s professional and educational accomplishments and goals.
California Sea Grant plans to select up to 20-25 finalists (depending on size of applicant pool and number of host offerings) who will be awarded fellowships to begin in early 2025.
Deadline: May 31, 2024 at 5 p.m. PT
