Save the Date: 2023 Pathways Towards Responsible Aquaculture in California, August 10-11 at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories

CAA Members,

You are invited to attend the 2023 Pathways Towards Responsible Aquaculture in California. The forum will focus on both freshwater and marine aquaculture and will cover a variety of topics, including but not limited to workforce development, biosecurity, disaster relief, funding opportunities, and future needs of the California aquaculture industry. We are convening on August 10-11, 2023 at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories in Moss Landing, CA.

This forum is a follow up to our inaugural 2018 forum: Pathways Towards Responsible Aquaculture in California. For this year’s forum, California Sea Grant has partnered with Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, California Aquaculture Association, Pacific Coast Shellfish Growers Association, University of California Cooperative Extension, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the NOAA Fisheries Aquaculture Program in California.

This forum is a free event. Lunch will be provided on both days. California aquaculture products and refreshments will also be provided during a social hour. Due to capacity limitations this event is invitation only. The organizing committee has identified you as an important stakeholder with regard to responsible Californian aquaculture and request your attendance.

California Sea Grant is providing a limited amount of funds to offset travel expenses for invited participants who would be unable to attend without additional support. Please stay tuned for additional communications on travel fund applications.

We anticipate sharing a detailed agenda with you in the coming weeks. Registration details will be sent along with the agenda.

We hope you can join us this August 10-11th in Moss Landing, CA.

We are also planning a CAA board meeting the day before the conference on August 9. Details to follow.
