The US Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has announced a new international export health certificate has been negotiated with Honduras for the export of live tilapia from the United States to Honduras. More information regarding the export requirements and associated health certificate can be found on the APHIS IRegs web page for Honduras (https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/ourfocus/animalhealth/export/international-standard-setting-activities-oie/regionalization/sa_by_country/sa_h/ct_animal_honduras).
Please note that Honduras accepts both electronic issuance by your Accredited Veterinarian AND digital APHIS endorsement of the health certificate, which means no mailing or needing to travel to the APHIS office for each shipment. More information on APHIS’ online Veterinary Export Health Certification System (VEHCS) can be found here (https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/ourfocus/animalhealth/export/iregs-for-animal-exports/vehcs/country-list).
For more information on live aquatic animal exports, certificate endorsement, or facility inspection requests, please get in touch with the USDA Endorsement Office for your State or U.S. Territory which can be found here (https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/ourfocus/animalhealth/contact-us/endorsement-offices-exports/endorsement-offices-animal-exports).
