On Wednesday, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors reviewed an appeal of the Planning Commission’s Aug. 4 approval of a massive fish farming project in Samoa. The special meeting began at 9 a.m. and ran until about 6 p.m. with various recesses throughout that time.
Environmental organizations 350 Humboldt and the Redwood Region Audubon Society, along with the Humboldt Fishermen’s Marketing Association, co-wrote the appeal, which lists numerous concerns with the Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) for the project, including the 15 ways in which the groups allege the project violates the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)…
