AFS and NOAA host Marine Aquaculture Congressional Briefing

On July 13th, the American Fisheries Society (AFS) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service, hosted a 90-minute online Congressional Briefing focused on offshore marine finfish farming and developing technologies around the globe.  To watch click here.

Speakers discussed how advances in science and technology have enabled thriving, environmentally sound, and sustainable marine aquaculture industries. A stable regulatory framework with strong environmental safeguards, combined with the use of best practices, research, and innovation, can guide the United States towards a more sustainable future for fisheries.
