Participation Request for 2nd Quarter COVID-19 Economic Impact Survey

The California Aquaculture Association (CAA) requests that aquaculture farms and businesses participate in the COVID-19 economic impact survey being conducted by economists with The Ohio State University and Virginia Tech. They are collecting information about how your farm or business has been affected by this pandemic. This effort is being repeated quarterly to try and capture the evolving impacts of coronavirus disease on U.S. aquaculture, aquaponics, and allied businesses.

Please participate in each of the quarterly national surveys during 2020. Even if you have not been negatively affected, that data is important to capturing the full effects of pandemic management efforts. Please click here to participate in the Quarter 2 survey, covering the period from April 10th, 2020 to June 29th, 2020.

Please provide your responses based on the period of time between April 10th, 2020 and June 29th, 2020. This survey should take about 25 minutes to complete. No personally identifiable information (name, address, e-mail, telephone number, IP address, etc.) will be collected. All data from this survey will remain anonymous.

This survey is also being supported by funding from the National Sea Grant Office and the National Marine Fisheries Service. There are no benefits or rewards for participating in this study. Results from this study may be used to communicate the effects of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on commercial aquaculture, aquaponics or allied businesses to State and Federal agencies, in an effort to secure relief. Results from this study may also be published in the future.

This survey will close at 11:59 pm (eastern time) on July 17, 2020.

Results from the Quarter 1 survey are available here.

If you would like a copy of the summary results, or have any questions about this study, please contact: Jonathan van Senten – jvansenten@vt.edu or Matthew Smith – smith.11460@osu.edu

Thank you for your support and participation in this project.
