California aquaculture is standing on the edge of its next chapter.
For some, that may feel uncertain. For others, it may feel full of opportunity. The truth is, it is probably both.
This is an industry with tremendous potential, but also real challenges. Permitting, public understanding, policy, market development, environmental questions, workforce needs, and the future of aquatic food production in California are all part of the conversation.
And that is exactly why CAA matters.
The California Aquaculture Association exists to support the growers, producers, advocates, researchers, suppliers, educators, and industry partners who believe aquaculture has a place in California’s future. CAA is here to help create a voice, provide support, advocate for the industry, engage in policy conversations, share information, build connections, and keep California aquaculture visible.
Because what would we have without that shared voice?
Another question mark.
Another division.
Another place where aquaculture gets misunderstood, overlooked, or pushed to the side.
Another missed opportunity for the people and businesses working to build something meaningful in this state.
This is not the time to slip away.
This is the time to come together.
California aquaculture was built by people who believed. People who showed up, spoke up, worked through hard seasons, and created the structures that allowed this industry to keep moving. Those voices, that effort, and that belief are now being handed to the next generation of aquaculture leaders.
The question is: how will we carry it forward?
By stepping away from the organizations that have supported the industry?
Or by strengthening them, improving them, and shaping them into the tools we need for the future?
CAA is not a one-person show. It is not one company’s responsibility. It is not one board, one voice, or one meeting. It takes all of us to lift California aquaculture into its next phase.
We also understand that membership has to provide value.
Every grower, company, organization, and individual needs to see a return on their investment. We want CAA to be useful, relevant, responsive, and worth belonging to. That means we need to hear from you.
What do you need from CAA?
What would make membership more valuable?
Where can we better support your business, your work, your advocacy, your visibility, or your connection to the broader aquaculture community?
Your renewal is not just a membership payment. It is a statement that California aquaculture still needs a united voice and that you are willing to be part of it.
This industry sits on the cusp of something important.
The future will require support, coordination, advocacy, education, and belief.
Let’s not meet that future divided.
Let’s meet it together.
Renew your CAA membership, stay engaged, and help us build a stronger tool for California aquaculture.
We are listening.
We are here.
And we believe the next chapter is worth building together.
