California Sea Grant is Now Accepting Research Proposals

Apply now for the 2024 Graduate Research Fellowship and
2024 Aquaculture Awards with California Sea Grant

Each fellowship provides an award of up to $45,000 per year, and will be awarded to exceptional graduate students engaged in education and research that furthers California Sea Grant’s goals, as outlined in the 2024-27 Strategic Plan. This Request for Proposals (RFP) focuses on proposals that respond to and target those goals specific to Resilient Communities and Economies (RCE) and Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture (SFA).

(Note: only SFA projects related to fisheries will be considered for this funding opportunity due to the concurrent funding opportunity for aquaculture described below.)

The fellowship provides hands-on experience in translating research results to coastal and marine communities. Selected fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in professional development opportunities offered by California Sea Grant. The start date for the fellowships is February 1, 2024. California Sea Grant expects to fund up to 9 fellowships from this call.
