Please Support Fischer and Boozman All Fish and Crawfish Amendment to Farm Bill

Courtesy of NAA:

Senators Fischer and Boozman were successful in adding an amendment to the Senate version of the Farm Bill that fixes the livestock definition being used by the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration for enforcing the electronic logging device and hour of service rules.  The current definition limits agricultural livestock to “fish used for food.”  The Fischer/Boozman amendment expands the definition to include all fish, crawfish, alpacas and llamas which will benefit baitfish, ornamental fish (aquarium and water garden), and other species like triploid grass carp that are shipped by long haul truck.  The goal being to gain for these fish the same agricultural exemptions available for all livestock.

The House and Senate versions of the Farm Bill will go to conference this week and the Fischer/Boozman amendment must survive.
