Canadian government doles out $2.5m to sell more aquaculture products

The Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance is set to receive $2.5 million over the next two years from the Canadian government to help the industry sell more aquaculture product, reports CBC News.

Primary target are the US, Canada, Asia and Europe for the funding package announced by Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Egmont MP Gail Shea on Thursday in Prince Edward Island.

Shea also announced funding totaling $300,000 for Holland College, to purchase equipment for use in its new inshore diver training courses in Atlantic Canada. The courses prepare students for work in the aquaculture industry and other relevant sector such as film and public safety.
