This year, at the Triennial Aquaculture Meeting in New Orleans, Humboldt had 8 attendees. Graduate students Raven McAdams and Evan Simpson presented a poster and Brian Donovan did an oral presentation at the Macroalgae Aquaculture: Supporting a Successful Seaweed Sector session. You can read their abstract at:

Brian Donovan. An Economic and Production Analysis of Seaweed Farmers in California and the Pacific Northwest. https://www.was.org/Meeting/Program/PaperDetail/166152

Evan Simpson. Development of a Longline Cultivation System for the Winged Kelp Alaria marginata in Estuarine Systems. https://wasblobstorage.blob.core.windows.net/meeting-abstracts/AQ2025AbstractBook.pdf

Raven McAdams. Hormonal Sex Reversal in Sacramento Pikeminnow Ptychocheilus grandis using 17 β-Estradiol. https://wasblobstorage.blob.core.windows.net/meeting-abstracts/AQ2025AbstractBook.pdf

It is worth mentioning that fisheries undergraduate alumni Adreas submitted an abstract about his undergraduate project but was unable to attend. You can read his abstract:

We would like to acknowledge the travel awards from CSU COAST, which supported two graduate students, and the USDA HSI La Comida Nos Une grant, which supported the travel of two undergraduate students.

Fun fact: Graduate students and Rafael stayed in an Airbnb on Bourbon Street – no more comments.
