OPC Seeking Science Advisory Team Members

Expressions of interest due December 2 (deadline extended)

Ocean Protection Council (OPC) is accepting expressions of interest to join the OPC Science Advisory Team (OPC SAT). The OPC SAT provides scientific analysis, advice, and expertise needed to ensure the best available science informs OPC policy and funding decisions. The OPC SAT offers a critical venue for bringing state leaders and scientists together around pressing ocean and coastal challenges.

OPC welcomes expressions of interest from individuals with a broad range of identities, career stages, expertise, and experiences. OPC encourages expressions of interest from individuals with expertise in, but not limited to, environmental justice and equity, economicsNative American studies, sociology, natural resource policy and governance, urban planning, engineering, and hydrology. We also encourage expressions of interest from individuals with experience in the following policy priority areas: offshore wind, climate-ready fisheries, or sea-level rise.

The California Ocean Science Trust (OST) convenes and coordinates activities of the OPC SAT on behalf of OPC. OST is a non-profit organization dedicated to using science to accelerate progress toward a healthy and productive ocean future for California,
