This Postdoctoral Research Associate will work with research scientists at HSWRI to evaluate the feasibility of rearing macroalgae and invertebrates in land and sea-based systems, typically with an emphasis on IMTA. In addition to the near-term feasibility assessments, the goal for this position is to establish a long term program (and associated strategic plan) that complements other facets of seafood sustainability research at HSWRI. The candidate will be a catalyst and lead for aquaculture research projects involving invertebrates and macroalgae; with the development of extramural grant proposals and peer-reviewed research publications; and with expanding our existing network of collaborators as appropriate. Appointments are initially for one to two years and extensions are possible, based on employee performance and funding availability. The successful candidate will receive full employee benefits from HSWRI and the salary is subject to tax.
