Ocean Rainforest, Inc. is looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and passionate individual to lead the implementation and development of a small-scale seaweed hatchery facility near Goleta, California. The individual would be responsible for ensuring standard operating procedures concerning the propagation, health and wellbeing of seaweed gametophytes and in order to maximize yield upon out-planting on a pilot offshore cultivation system. These duties include, but are not limited to: conducting successful sporulation events, manage propagation, maintaining laboratory cleanliness, upholding all relevant environment and safety protocols, collaborate with ocean operations, inventory control and stock management. Additional responsibilities may include developing standard operating procedures, performing various administrative responsibilities and assisting with applications for various funding opportunities related to the continued development of Ocean Rainforest’s mission.
