Lecture Series Overview: Seafood is a lean protein that is packed with beneficial nutrients, including omega-3 fatty acids, iron, selenium, and B vitamins. Research has shown that eating more seafood may reduce the risk of heart disease, improve brain development and function, help build muscles and tissues, and may reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, relative to other forms of animal based protein, seafood can be produced with fewer environmental impacts.

Linda Cornish, executive director of Seafood Nutrition Partnership, and Barton Seaver, chef, author, and director of Sustainable Seafood and Health at the Harvard School of Public Health and University of New England Sustainable Seafood Innovations Advisor, will discuss seafood’s role in human and environmental health and share tips for sourcing and preparing healthy seafood.
