TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Diverse expertise in aquaculture technology is required, to include: Knowledge of fish genetics and breeding. Knowledge of fish pathology, diagnostics, and nutrition. Assist in maintaining and spawning of broodstock. Design and operation of experimental trials of larval, juvenile, and adult feeds. Design and operation of experimental trials of therapeutics. Operation of water quality monitoring equipment. Conduct monthly population sampling and analysis of the data. Prepare monthly reports on fish growth, survival, condition, diseases. Keep up-to-date with scientific literature on species under culture.
BUSINESS RESPONSIBILITIES: Expertise in the business aspects of aquaculture is required, to include: Good understanding of accounting principles, P&L statements, Opex, Capex. Excellent skills in Excel to include lookup tables, two-way data tables, complex functions. Excellent skills in modeling aquaculture operations, to include ability to model non-linear growth curves, food conversion rates, mortality rates, and other factors. Ability to tie non-linear biological model information to complex and detailed monthly financial projections of tank-by-tank yields. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
