Spain: Aquaculture Marine Experimentation Network created

Six Spanish aquaculture companies have teamed up to create the Aquaculture Marine Experimentation Network (REMA), an organization whose main aim is “to achieve solutions to scientific and technological challenges of the Spanish marine aquaculture industry.”

This new entity, legally constituted as a non-profit association, is one of the initiatives undertaken by the Business Association of Marine Aquaculture Producers of Spain(APROMAR) to ensure the sustainable future of the Spanish aquaculture.

The founding partners are Alevines of GuardamarAndromeda IbericaCulmarex, Cultivos Marinos de Guardamar, Grupo Tinamenor and Piscifactorías Albaladejo, and it is expected other corporations whose principal activity is marine aquaculture production will join.

Among other activities, REMA will focus on the development, promotion and encouragement of research, technological development and innovation in marine aquaculture.
